The South Korean woman wanted for the deaths of two children whose bodies were found in suitcases will be extradited to New Zealand for trial.

The 42-year-old, thought to be the mother of the two children, was arrested near Seoul in September after local police tracked her down.

New Zealand police requested the woman be sent back here where she also has citizenship.

Yonhap News Agency in Seoul reports the High Court has granted the request and she will face charges for murder.

The South Korean Justice Ministry must now decide when and how to extradite her.

The bodies of the two children, thought to be between seven and 10 years old, were found in suitcases at a property after a family brought an abandoned storage locker.
