Auckland transport project delayed by bad weather

09:00 am on 2 May 2011

The opening of a major transport project in Auckland has been delayed by bad weather.

The fourth southbound lane on the Newmarket Viaduct upgrade had been due to open overnight on Sunday but forecast high winds and heavy rain meant workers were unable to install the final signage and line marking.

The work will continue on the next fine night.
