Manus refugees as contemporary art

06:03 am on 19 November 2018

A video of refugees detained on Papua New Guinea's Manus Island is part of the annual Primavera exhibition at Sydney's Museum of Contemporary Art.

It was filmed by the artist Hoda Afshar, whose photography challenges stereotypes of marginalised people.

Ben Robinson Drawbridge spoke with Ms Afshar, who collaborated with the Kurdish journalist and Manus refugee, Behrouz Boochani, for her trip to the island.
