The project will research biotechnologies on plants which are abundant, well grown and economically viable.

Talamua Online reports that the project at the Scientific Research Organisation of Samoa has been given a grant of $95,000 US dollars by the Embassy of Japan.

It will focus on natural resources abundantly available at different locations across the country and will specifically be directed at the propagation of various orchids and the extraction of aromas from fragrant plants.
