PNG doctors continue work despite resignation threat

13:58 pm on 12 January 2010

Doctors in Papua New Guinea are continuing to work despite an earlier threat to resign over an industrial dispute.

The National Doctors Association has been in discussions with the Department of Health on the signing of a memorandum of understanding over the doctors' salary structure, which was aborted in November.

Last week, doctors threatened to resign en masse by Sunday if the government failed to sign an MOU.

No details of the discussions have been revealed as yet.
