Two swimmers who drowned in Manawatū River in Palmerston North earlier this year have been named.

Toetu Tonisitino, 39, and Aukusitino Ioane, 25, died on 2 January.
Police said they were unable to comment further regarding the cause of death because the matter had been referred to the coroner.
They are still making inquiries on behalf of the coroner to understand how the incident happened.
