Prime Minister John Key will meet other Asia Pacific leaders today to discuss economic growth and closer ties.
It marks the end of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Beijing.
Mr Key will head to Yanqi Lake, a scenic spot in a mountainous district about 60 kilometres from Beijing's city centre.
Once there, leaders will discuss how to tie the economies of the 21 countries closer together, as well as create measures to lift growth, such as higher spending on infrastructure and boosting domestic demand.
As is tradition, the APEC leaders will have their photo taken, while the occasion will also be marked by a tree planting ceremony.
This evening Mr Key meets with Chile's President Michelle Bachelet.
