Samoa's ruling HRPP party has gained two seats in the 49 seat Parliament ahead of Friday's general election.
The Head of State, Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi, has declared the election of caretaker prime minister, Tuilaepa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi, and Fonotoe Nuafesili Pierre Lauofo.
Their election follows a court ruling last week which disqualified two members of the Tautua Samoa party who were hoping to contest the seats of the HRPP members.
The court said that under the new provision of the Electoral Act, the Tautua members failed to provide a village service or monotaga requirement.
This is the second general election Tuilaepa as been re-elected unopposed.
