07:10 am on 17 February 2003

The Rainmaker Hotel in American Samoa needs to make a substantial payment towards its power and water bill, or it will be without electrictiy within ten days.

The American Samoa Power Authority has served a notice of intention to disconnect utilities.

The hotel bill is said to be more than 400 thousand US dollars.

Last year, the power authority disconnected the power more than once.

Supplies were reconnected after interventions from the government and promises from the hotel to pay its monthly bills.
