The farmer-owned wool supply and marketing company Wools of New Zealand has a new chief executive.
He is Ross Townshend, a Waikato sheep farmer and businessman.
Wools of New Zealand was set up as the former Wool Board's promotional and technical advisory arm before joining PGG Wrightson as part of the short-lived Wool Partners International joint venture with growers.
It was acquired by more than 700 sheep farmers in a capital-raising bid earlier this year.
Mr Townshend is also a director of Tatua dairy co-operative and previously held senior operational roles with Goodman Fielder, Bluebird Foods, Evergreen Packaging, Carter Holt Harvey and New Zealand Dairy Foods.
He'll take up his new position in August.
