About 11.48pm on 19 July, police were alerted to reports of gunshots being fired towards a property on Taniwha Street.

Two vehicles were damaged as a result, Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Brand, Auckland City CIB said.

Around 10.30pm on 12 August, police were called to the same street after being told that a firearm had been fired in the direction of a property.

Police executed search warrants this week and have now charged a 43-year-old man with intent to injure with a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition - charges that stem from the Glen Innes incidents.

He has also been charged with cultivating cannabis and committing burglary with a firearm.

A man, 20, has been charged with discharging a firearm, intent to injure with a firearm, and committing burglary with a firearm.

Two others, one aged 19 and one aged 18, have also been charged with intent to injure with a firearm.

All four men were due to appear in the Auckland District Court.

Brand said inquiries were continuing and anyone with information could contact police via 105, quoting file number 220720/1119.
