Fiji's Bainimarama will not attend Forum

08:18 am on 8 April 2015

Fiji's Prime Minister, Frank Bainimarama, says he will not attend the Pacific Islands Forum unless Australia and New Zealand leave the organisation.

He made the comments in an interview with the Fiji website Fiji Village.

Earlier Papua New Guinea's Prime Minister Peter O'Neill told The Australian that as the host of this year's gathering of the Forum he had written to invite Mr Bainimarama.

Fiji's suspension from the lead regional grouping was lifted after Fiji's elections last year but Suva has stressed it wants to see changes to its make-up.
