10:28 am on 22 November 2005

Doctors in Samoa who resigned after an unsuccessful strike are offering free clinics for the public.

On Sunday morning they held a clinic at the Marist Brothers School in Mulivai.

The President of the Samoa Medical Association, Dr Mauinu'uese Imo, said they would take their free clinics out to the rural hospital but would seek permission from the districts first.

She said the clinics would be offered during ths time while doctors sought employment.

Meanwhile, five of the doctors who went on strike have been given four weeks to move out of the government houses they've been occupying.

The notices are normal for resigning public servants who live in government housing.

Doctors affected have moved in with relatives.
