The armed offenders squad were called to an incident in Maraenui, Napier on Tuesday afternoon.
The police negotiation team was also at the Gilray Avenue incident, which they were called to about 2.10pm.
Cordons have now been removed, and police said nothing of interest was found at the address.
Police inquiries are ongoing to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.
