One person has died following a two vehicle crash at a State Highway 3 intersection in Taranaki.

In a statement, police confirmed one person had died in a fatal crash at the intersection of State Highway 3 and Oxford Terace in Midhirst, Taranki.
A police spokesperson said the crash involving two vehicles was first reported to police just before midday.
Police said the road would remain closed around the crash scene as diversions are put in place.
