Bathurst facing more action over mine

22:23 pm on 19 April 2013

Bathurst Resources faces more legal action after the Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society lodged an appeal against an Enviroment Court ruling that paved the way for the company to mine coal on the West Coast.

Forest and Bird says it has concerns over the amount of coal to be mined, damage to the enviroment and compensation offered.

Bathurst Resources managing director Hamish Bohannan says the company is assessing the implications of this latest appeal, but believes the mine will benefit the region.
