International shipping networks already in a mess are now having to deal with a new problem. A huge container ship is wedged in the Suez Canal, blocking the waterway in both directions. The Suez, in Egypt, is the main route between Asia and Europe. About 30% of global container shipping volumes pass through the canal each day, carrying everything from fuel to consumer goods. Auckland University Professor of supply chain management David Robb speaks to Emma Hatton.
