NZ Post to deliver late items

13:02 pm on 29 November 2012

New Zealand Post will begin delivering an estimated 20,000 items of mail to Queenstown residents this Sunday.

The mail went missing over a two year period after the items were hoarded by a a postal contractor.

A woman has been charged with theft and will appear in Queenstown District Court on Monday.

New Zealand Post says strict protocols will be applied to the delivery. The mail will be delivered to the door and residents will be asked to provide a photo ID.

Ten posties will spend all day delivering the mail.
