Christchurch residents are being asked to contribute ideas for growing food on a large scale in the residential red zone.
The Food Resilience Network is hosting a public consultation session at the Botanical Gardens from 11am to 3pm today for people to share ideas.
Network co-ordinator Matt Morris said there had been considerable interest in the idea of growing food for the city on a large scale.
He said there was huge interest in the future of the red zone and there was the chance to do something extraordinary.
Ideas from the session will form the basis of a report to the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority.
