Women's bodies found at Ranui house

Police have launched a double homicide investigation after finding two bodies at a West Auckland house.

They were called to the Ranui house just after 10am on Monday by a man who lived at the house, and found the bodies of two women. They said it appeared they suffered stab wounds.

One of the women was in her mid-50s and the other in her late teens. Police believe they are related.

Several police cars have been at the house during the day, and the area around the house was cordoned off.

The family's next-door neighbour, Rob Nixon said a husband, wife, and a daughter aged in her 20s live at the property,

Mr Nixon said he saw the husband leaving with officers on Monday morning after being attended to by by ambulance staff.

Post-mortems will begin on Tuesday.
