Former Manu Samoa player becomes District Court judge

One of Samoa's senior lawyers and a former Manu Samoa player, Loau Donald Kerslake, has been appointed a new District Court judge.

He will be sworn in on Friday.

The chief executive of the Ministry of Justice and Courts administration, Moliei Simi Va'ai, said the appointment by the Judiciary Commission was endorsed by the Cabinet in December.

The new judge is the son of the former president of the Lands and Title court and former politician, Tagaloa Tuala Sale Kerslake.

He will be joining in the court four other judges, including two women.
