An overturned truck has closed State Highway 2 near Wairoa in Hawke's Bay.
The truck and trailer unit, which was carrying offal, tipped over near Kotemaori, between Napier and Gisborne.
Police said the highway would be closed for about three hours while heavy lifting equipment is brought into the area.
They advised drivers to avoid the area, as there are no detours in place.
