Fiji's National Federation Party waits to see if it can attend political dialogue forum

Fiji's National Federation Party is waiting for a response from the interim Prime Minister, as to whether it is still invited to this Friday's political dialogue forum.

The forum is to discuss a way forward for Fiji which includes the convening of the Presidential Forum in a couple of months

Commodore Frank Bainimarama said comments by the NFP's General Secretary Pramod Rae supporting the ultimatum given by the Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group for an election date were unpatriotic.

But Mr Rae says he doesn't see anything wrong with his comments.

"I can't see how I have been unpatriotic. I certainly have not carried out a coup in this country or supported people who have carried out coups. We will await whatever he has to say, we have written to him seeking clarification, and advising him that outsideres do not dictate to the NFP."

Pramod Rae says it looks like the interim Government is now getting cold feet about the forum, and is using antics to derail the process.
