Kick Out The Jams: Margins

14:06 pm on 3 June 2016

Interviews and live sets from the New Zealand music underground. This week, we check in with local house and techno label Margins.

Margins is an emerging record label coming from the underground New Zealand house and techno scene. It's early days but Kelvin Leo Neal and Joe Sloan are quickly forming a reputation for the parties they're throwing around the country - all in the name of good club music being enjoyed for the right reasons.

The dance music scene in New Zealand seems to be a little behind the times when compared to the likes of London, Berlin, New York and even Melbourne, but these guys are passionate about the quality and originality of producers coming from down under.

We caught up with the founders of the label at the release of their debut compilation, which features tracks from Borrowed cs, Mongo Skato, K2K, Jaded Nineties Raver, DJ Kush Boogie, Leo G Clarke and Norma.

Featured music:

Mongo Skato - Perc
Borrowed cs - Ammunition

Filmed and edited by Ezra Simons and Gussie Larkin.
