The airline says Fiji Airports has banned jets from Nausori while the runway is upgraded.

The airport will close to jet aircraft from 26 July.

Passengers travelling to the country's capital from Auckland and Sydney will have to connect via Nadi, on the west coast.

Fiji Airways is the only airline offering jet services to Suva's Nausori airport.
