Three youths have been arrested in relation to a series of aggravated robberies in Hamilton on Saturday night.
Police were first alerted at 6.05pm, after receiving a report that a group of youths in a maroon car had threatened a teenage boy in Pukete and stolen his cellphone and jacket.
The group was reported to be armed with a weapon and wearing balaclavas,
Later in the evening at 9pm, four young people leaving the rugby were threatened by two people armed with a machete, who stole a cellphone.
Ten minutes later, another similar incident was reported in Pukete and another cellphone was stolen.
Police said they took urgent action to identify the offenders, and three youths have been charged with three aggravated robberies,
They were scheduled to appear in Hamilton Youth Court on Monday.
