Hundreds of jobs on the line in Whakatāne after mill closure announced

Solutions are being urgently sought to help Whakatāne respond to the blow of losing a key employer.

The Whakatāne mill could close in June with the loss of more than 200 jobs.

The business has been producing paper and packaging products for more than 80 years, but is no longer considered economic.
