Spurs have lost to League Two club Colchester in a penalty shoot out.
Fellow League Two side Crawley Town has also won its third round tie on penalties, ousting Championship club Stoke City.
Two-time defending champions Manchester City have had no such trouble, winning 3-0 at Preston North End.
In other results, Arsenal's thumped Nottingham Forest 5-0, Southampton's downed Portsmouth 4-0, Leicester City's won 4-0 at Luton Town, Watford's beaten Swansea City 2-1 and Everton's won 2-0 at Sheffield Wednesday.
Fed Cup tournament coming to the capital
Wellington will play host to six days of international tennis this February, with Tennis New Zealand announcing a Fed Cup international teams event will take place in the city.

Ten national teams from the Asia-Oceania region, including New Zealand will take part in the event from 3-8 February 2020 at the Renouf Tennis Centre.
New Zealand last hosted a Fed Cup competition in 2007 and the re-introduction of international women's teams tennis is part of a drive by Tennis NZ to promote women's and girl's involvement in tennis at all levels.
"We are excited to be hosting the Fed Cup here in New Zealand once again," Tennis NZ CEO Julie Paterson said.
"Having our best female players in action at home, competing under the silver fern is incredibly important to the growth and development of our sport."
Change of ownership at Warriors
New Zealand manufacturing business, Autex Industries, has taken sole ownership of the Warriors NRL club.

The move sees the family-owned business, which has been supporting New Zealand rugby league for more than 40 years, increase its existing 33% stake in the club following a deal with the Carlaw Heritage Trust - the previous majority shareholders.
Despite the change in ownership, there will be no immediate leadership changes at the Club. Autex Managing Director - Rob Croot, will remain in position as Chair of the Warriors' board, Cameron George will continue to lead the Club as CEO, and Stephen Kearney will continue to coach the team.
RTS honoured again
Inspirational Warriors captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has become the first player to claim the club's player of the year award for three NRL seasons running.

The metre-eating fullback was awarded the Simon Mannering Medal at the club's annual awards in Auckland which brought the curtain down on a disappointing season in which they placed 13th, four points short of reaching the finals.
Tuivasa-Sheck also won the players' player prize and was honoured for a third time after winning a player prize voted on by the public.
Last year's Dally M medallist won the main prize ahead of nominated team-mates Ken Maumalo, Peta Hiku, Blake Green and Leeson Ah Mau.
Five-eighth Chanel Harris-Tavita was named rookie of the year.

European host cities announced
St. Petersburg, Munich and Wembley Stadium in London will host the three Champions League finals from 2021.

Istanbul in Turkey is already scheduled to hold the final of the 2019/2020 campaign on May 30 at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium.
The 2021 final will be the second to be staged in Russia after Moscow hosted Manchester United's penalty shootout win against Chelsea at the Luzhniki Stadium in 2008.
Munich hosted Chelsea's victory over home side Bayern in 2012 while Wembley will take charge of Europe's premier club final for the eighth time.
Wembley will in 2023 be celebrating the 100th year since the opening of the original stadium in London.
Seville will host the 2021 UEFA Europa League final while Belfast will host that year's Super Cup.

Durant expected to miss entire season
Brooklyn Nets general manager Sean Marks has confirmed that forward Kevin Durant is expected to miss the entire 2019-20 NBA basketball season as he recovers from a torn right Achilles sustained in June.

New Zealander Marks did leave the door cracked for that plan to change depending on how Durant feels about his own progress.
Durant signed a four-year, 260 million dollar contract with the Nets in July, after his former team, the Golden State Warriors, lost the NBA Finals.
He ruptured his right Achilles tendon in Game 5 of the finals series against Toronto.

TKR pulls out of Bathurst plan
Team Kiwi Racing has abandoned its late bid to compete in next month's Bathurst 1000.
The former Supercars outfit was aiming to make a late entry into the series' blue riband event, with plans to run Porsche Supercup regular Jaxon Evans and Carrera Cup Asia star Chris van der Drift in a Triple Eight-built Holden Commodore.
However team owner David John has called off the ambitious plan, conceding there's not enough time to bring it together.
Team Kiwi is now aiming to complete a partial campaign in the 2020 Supercars season, with both the opening round in Adelaide and the Bathurst 1000 on John's radar.
TKR competed in Supercars between 2000 and the start of the 2009 season, when its Racing Entitlements Contract was bought by Dean Fiore's Triple F Racing outfit.

Another big win for under-23 footballers
The New Zealand Under-23 men's football team has beaten American Samoa 12-0 in their second pool game at the OFC Olympic qualifying tournament in Fiji.
It follows a 6-1 win over Samoa in their opening game and qualifies them for the semi-finals with a game to play.
Myer Bevan scored five goals.
New Zealand will now take on the Solomon Islands on Friday evening in their final pool game.
Hireme named in Warriors squad
Kiwi Ferns star Honey Hireme could make her first start for the Warriors in their NRLW third round game against the unbeaten Brisbane Broncos in Sydney on Saturday.

Hireme was unavailable for the club's first two games against the Sydney Roosters and St George Illawarra Dragons as she supported her gravely ill mother.
While the 38-year-old Hireme has been named on the bench it's not known yet whether she will be able to travel for the Warriors' must-win encounter with the Broncos.
The Warriors must beat the Broncos to have any chance of making the grand final.
Cory Hill out of World Cup
Wales lock Cory Hill has been ruled out of the Rugby World Cup after being unable to recover from a leg stress fracture.
Dragons forward Hill will be replaced by Ospreys' Bradley Davies, who will arrive in Japan today.
Wales head coach Warren Gatland had gambled by naming Hill in his World Cup squad, hoping the 27-year-old would recover in the early stages of the tournament.
There were hopes the Hill would be fit to face Australia in Sunday's Pool D showdown, but the after latest medical assessment Hill was advised to continue his rehabilitation back home.
Wales had only two fit regular locks in Alun Wyn Jones and Jake Ball for Monday's 43-14 victory over Georgia.
Another lock, Adam Beard, is likely to miss the weekend's clash against Australia as he recovers from surgery to remove his appendix.

Murray scores first ATP win in months
Former world men's tennis number one Andy Murray won his first ATP tour singles match in nearly nine months with a three set victory over American Tennys Sandgren in the opening round of the Zhuhai Championships in China.

Murray, whose last win on the tour came in Brisbane prior to the Australian Open, did win twice at the Rafa Nadal Open -- a second-tier ATP Challenger Tour event -- last month before opting to return to the ATP tour for the Asian swing.
Murray made his return to the circuit during the grasscourt swing earlier this year but only played doubles before his singles comeback at the Cincinnati Masters and the Winston-Salem Open ended in first-round defeats.
The 32-year-old fired 13 aces and did not face a single break point in the match that lasted two hours and 41 minutes in humid conditions.

Man U revenue to drop
Manchester United forecast annual revenue would fall for the first time in five years after its failure to qualify for this season's UEFA Champions League but backed manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to rebuild the English soccer club.
Executive Vice Chairman Ed Woodward called for patience after the 20-times English champions also forecast a drop in core profit for 2019-20 and said the club was building for long-term success.
United's history is sprinkled with squads built around young talent, most notably under Matt Busby in the 1950s and 1960s and Alex Ferguson's class of 1992, which included the likes of David Beckham and Ryan Giggs.
The team endured a turbulent season in 2018-19 that prompted the departure of manager Jose Mourinho before finishing they finished sixth in the domestic league under former United striker Solskjaer.
The club, which will play in the less lucrative Europa League this season, has made a stuttering start to the new English Premier League campaign and sits eighth in the table after six matches.

Schumachers to race in Russia
Two Schumachers will compete in Russian Grand Prix support races this weekend, with Michael's son Mick racing in Formula Two and Ralf's son David taking the Formula Three seat of injured Australian Alex Peroni.
Peroni, 19, suffered a broken vertebra in a huge airborne crash at this month's Italian Grand Prix weekend and has been ruled out of the season-ending double-header.
Mick, 20, is a Ferrari academy driver and competes for the Prema team in Formula Two, one rung below Formula One. His father won a record seven F1 championships.
Campos Racing indicated 17-year-old David, whose father won six races with Williams between 2001-03, could have a future with them beyond 2019.
