One person has died after a three-vehicle crash in Southland.

Police were called to the intersection of Gap Road East and State Highway 6 near Winton just before half-past-one this afternoon.
A scene examination was taking place. The road was expected to reopen later tonight.
Police say their investigation into the crash is ongoing.
