Papua New Guinea's island of New Britain experienced a magnitude-5.6 earthquake in the early hours of this morning.
According to the US Geological Survey, the quake struck at a depth of 56km, around 140km to the east of Kimbe shortly after midnight local time.
It comes as PNG's interior continues to feel significant aftershocks after last week's 7.5 quake in the Highlands.
Yesterday, the same region was hit by a 6.7 quake, again centred in Hela province.
The region also felt a magnitude-5 quake at around 4am local time this morning.
