A serious crash involving a truck and a car has closed part of State Highway 79 in south Canterbury.
Police were called to Orari Bridge near the intersection with Keen Road just before 8.30am.
Initial indications suggest serious injury, police said.
The road was closed north of Geraldine and diversions are in place.
