Two scrub fires in Waikato have been extinguished after firefighters worked at the sites for five hours.

Two helicopters and 15 fire trucks were called to help at about 1.30pm.
The fires broke along railway line close to Kellyville Road in Mercer and Island Block Road in Meremere.
Fire and Emergency said the fires were likely to have been caused by a train moving across the areas.
