A person has been charged over a man's death five years ago, which the coroner had ruled was an accident.
Bruce Mouat died in the south Taranaki town of Hawera in July 2011 and the coroner subsequently found there was no foul play.
But police have confirmed a person appeared in the Hastings District Court last week charged with his manslaughter.
The person has been granted bail and interim name suppression, and will appear in the New Plymouth High Court next month.
