The Stars have beaten the Pulse 47-46 in Palmerston North to get their ANZ Premiership season back on track.
The Stars led by four after the first quarter and maintained that advantage going into the main break with a 28-24 lead.
The Pulse fought back in the third quarter to go to within one of the Stars heading into the final spell.
It was goal for goal for most of the final quarter but the Stars were able to continue to disrupt the flow of the Pulse attacking end to come up with a much needed win.
The Pulse shot at 89 percent to the Stars 77 percent but the visitors enjoyed more volume.
Stars goal attack Jamie Hume stood up to the plate, scoring 24 goals, one more than her goal shoot Maia Wilson.
Black Ferns sevens top pool
The Black Ferns Sevens have come back to the World Series with a bang - topping their pool at their return tournament in Canada.
Back in the series after more than two years away due to the pandemic, New Zealand have recorded two big wins and a draw on day one in Langford.
The reigning Olympic champions thumped England 31-nil, and then dispatched the USA 36-0.
They completed pool play with a 12-all draw against Fiji - the bronze medallists from last year's Tokyo Games.
The Black Ferns will play hosts Canada in the quarterfinals.
SVG storms to another Supercars win
New Zealand driver Shane van Gisbergen has further extended his overall lead in the Supercars championship.
The defending champ claimed his seventh victory of the season on Saturday night, winning race one at round four in Perth.
Van Gisbergen ended his winless run in Western Australia with the result, which came under lights.
The result opened his championship lead over Anton De Pasquale to 157 points, with Chaz Mostert finishing a lowly 22nd to drop to fourth behind Will Davison.
Two more races would be held in Perth on Sunday.
Promising signs for NZ sailors
New Zealand's top Olympic class sailors emerged from their first block of international competition in two years knowing they're not too far off the top.
Five boats finished in the top 10 at the French Olympic Week regatta which finished in Hyeres today on top of five who were in the top 10 at last month's Palma World Cup.
No racing was possible in the iQFoil medal races in Hyeres today due to light winds, meaning Veerle ten Have finished fifth overall in the women's event and Josh Armit eighth in the men's competition.
The remaining classes all got their medal races away with Micah Wilkinson and Erica Dawson finishing fifth overall in the Nacra 17, George Gautrey ninth in the ILCA 7 (Laser) and Alex Maloney and Olivia Hobbs ninth in the 49erFX.
Another Formula E podium for Evans
Mitch Evans has continued his surge up the Formula E standings.
The New Zealander came across the line second at the latest E-Prix in Monaco on Sunday (NZ time).
After starting from pole, Evans relinqueshed the lead on lap 12, dropping back to third as he took his attack mode for the race.
He did make ground up in the final part of the race, but was eventually forced to settle for second behind Belgium's Stoffel Vandoorne.
Victory gave Vandoorne a six-point lead over Jean-Eric Vergne at the top of the championship, with Evans just a further three points adrift in third.
Fellow New Zealand Nick Cassidy finished seventh in Monaco to be 13th overall.
England clinch Women's Six Nations
England claimed their fourth successive Women's Six Nations title with a hard-fought 24-12 victory over France in the Grand Slam decider in front of a sell-out partisan crowd at the Stade Jean Dauger in Bayonne.
The visitors arrived in the Basque Country having won their four previous matches by margins of 50 points or more and capped an impressive campaign with their 23rd straight win in a row and their 10th consecutive victory over France.
England initially found themselves in unchartered territory as France got an early score but the hosts' bright start soon turned into a long afternoon as the Red Roses hit back in brilliant fashion with three of their own.
Les Blues were held at bay by the physicality and defensive work of Simon Middleton's side, who were relentless for much of the half and carried their 14-point lead into the break.
England's maul was key to them continuing their relentless attack while France's line-out inconsistencies halted theirs as Zoe Aldcroft's four steals in the first half was the difference between the two sides.
Annaelle Deshaye's try just after the hour mark gave the home side some hope but England held on to close out the victory and further underline their dominance in the sport.
