A light plane has made an emergency landing at Papamoa beach in Bay of Plenty this afternoon.

Police said those on board the plane were able to get out safely and there were no injuries.
It was thought the plane had a fuel problem.
Police had no timeframe for when the plane would be moved off the beach.
