About 1000 calls are coming through each day to the new 10-5 number for non-emergency police calls.
Police Commissioner Mike Bush said more than 13,000 calls had been made to the number since it was introduced earlier this month.
Surveys showed 83 percent of callers were satisfied with the way their call had gone.
The calls so far range from car thefts to clothing stolen off a washing line.
Mr Bush said the number of calls to the 111 emergency number had not dropped much, which suggested more people were reporting crime.
