There's been good news overnight for the West Indies cricketers going into this weekend's quarter-final against the Black Caps in Wellington.

The Windies burly opening batsman Chris Gayle is expected to be fit to play after sitting out their last pool match with a back injury.

The home team's leading batsman Kane Williamson says while they have great respect for Gayle, their job is to focus on executing their own skill sets.
