Controversy mars first half of polling in PNG election

Halfway through its designated polling period, Papua New Guinea's national election has become mired in controversy.

Polling in the election, which began last Saturday, is scheduled for two weeks.

Wild flaws and omissions in the electoral roll, delayed polling and claims of ballot paper tampering have dominated the early phase of polling.
