A doctor who jumped on a car carrying the deputy prime minister during a TPP protest and had to be forcibly removed will not face disciplinary action from his employer.

Whanganui District Health Board's chief medical officer Frank Rawlinson met with Dr Chris Cresswell today to decide if he should face disciplinary measures.
Dr Cresswell refused to budge after jumping on Whanganui MP Chester Borrows' car, in which Deputy Prime Minister Bill English was also travelling, during a protest he organised last week.
The Association of Salaried Medical Specialists executive director Ian Powell said the DHB accepted that staff have the right to express their views.
"During the meeting the DHB acknowledged that the letter they sent to Dr Cresswell was inappropriate and they also confirmed that no disciplinary action would be taken against Dr Cresswell," Mr Powell said.
Under his contract Dr Cresswell had the right to participate in public debate relevant to his expertise and experience, he said.
