A 24-year-old man is in a serious but stable condition in hospital after being assaulted in the Auckland suburb of Mount Roskill.

Police said the man was attacked just after 3am, on Gifford Avenue.
They want to hear from anyone who knows anything about what happened, or saw the assault.
