New Zealand cyclist Ally Wollaston has won the final stage of the Tour of Catalunya - heading off world champion and tour winner Marianne Vos in a sprint on the streets of Barcelona.

It was the second stage win of the tour for Soudal-Quick-Step rider Wollaston, who finished with the sprinters' green jersey.

The 23-year-old headed home a strong field at the end of the 87km final stage which traversed some challenging climbs.

"The last kilometres were always going to be quite hectic going into the finish today," she said.

"The team stayed calm, moved up when needed, and Kim found a gap that didn't really exist in the last 500m, setting me up perfectly for the sprint. We had a plan, we stuck to it."

Wollaston's teammates Justine Ghekiere and Mireia Benito were first and second respectively in the race for the mountain jersey and the team were second overall behind Team Visma.

"We walk away with the queen of the mountains jersey, the Catalan jersey, the points jersey, and two stage wins," Wollaston said.

"Plus, Kim (Pienaar) finished fourth in the general classification. It's been an amazing weekend for the team, and I'm really proud to be a part of it,"

Fellow New Zealand rider, Michaela Drummond was seventh across the line for her Arkea-B&B Hotels team.
