A police officer in Auckland has been arrested, charged and an employment investigation is set to follow.
The 30-year-old male officer from Auckland City District was charged for "accessing a computer system for dishonest purposes," Superintendent Karyn Malthus, Auckland City District Commander said.
The officer appeared in the Auckland District Court today.
"The charge was made as the result of a police self-initiated investigation process," she said.
"The officer has been stood down from duty and an employment investigation will follow in due course."
