The British High Commission in Wellington says the body of the New Zealand soldier killed in Afghanistan has been returned to Britain.
Private Jack Howard was killed on 5 December in what may have been a friendly fire incident involving a United States aircraft.
His parents have flown to the United Kingdom and plan to bring his body back to New Zealand.
The British High Commission expects the 23-year-old's body will be back in the country within seven days.
