A New Zealand company with links in the Pacific has issued a sign of support for Niue with the development of a major new supermarket and other shops.
W H Groves' current food retailer on the island, Swansons, is getting a New Zealand style supermarket makeover, moving to much bigger, and newer, surroundings.
The Auckland-based general manager of W H Groves, Robert O'Halloran, said in the 11 years they have been involved, business has grown significantly.
"Well we have owned the store since 2007 and seen the business grow - it's more than doubled in that time - and that's due to a number of people moving back to Niue, further tourism in Niue and general growth, organic growth overall."
Robert O'Halloran said he expects the economic growth on the island to continue.
