ASB banked robbed in Grey Lynn

21:59 pm on 23 March 2010

Police are looking for two men who robbed a bank in the Auckland suburb of Grey Lynn just after 2pm on Tuesday.

One of the men who entered the ASB bank, on Great North Road, was armed with a pistol.

Police say he ordered a number of customers to lie on the floor.

The second man climbed over the security screen where he confronted bank staff,

forcing them to lie on the floor.

He then forced open a number of cash drawers, removing the cash from them.

It is not known how much money was taken but it is believed to be substantial.

The robbers were last seen running down Tuarangi Road toward Western Springs.
