The police in Samoa have warned the public to protect their houses after two prisoners convicted of burglary and theft escaped from the main prison on Sunday.

The escapees, Daniel Vailopa and Vaai Panapa, left Tafaigata Prison while all inmates were in their cells.

The police have also warned people not to offer any help to the escapees.

Meanwhile three inmates including one woman who escaped two weeks ago have been returned to prison after giving themselves up to the police.
