Affordable housing: a Goldilocks story

There's a bit of a conundrum going on in the housing market. Spring has sprung and house prices have jumped up 3.6 percent to a record high.

But New Zealand has a well-publicised housing crisis and a lot of work is being done to make homes more affordable.

So is this increase good news or bad?
