The road between Fort Street and Customs Street is closed after a water main broke at about 10am this morning.

One lane of Customs Street is also closed but three remain open. The footpath is open and no properties are without water.

Auckland Transport said bus stops on Queen Street between Victoria Street and Customs Street were affected. The CityLink, InnerLink, 105 and 106 services were all being diverted.

A Watercare spokesperson said crews were working to locate the broken pipe, which was the same water main that burst earlier in the month.

The spokesperson said Watercare hoped to have the road open in time for tomorrow's morning commute.
