Worksafe NZ is investigating the death of a worker in an accident at the AFFCO meatworks in Wairoa last week. Police were called shortly after 5.30 last Wednesday night following the death of 61-year-old Alfred Edwards who was described by friends as a long-term employee at the meat plant. Indira spoke to Darien Fenton of the New Zealand Meat Workers and Related Trades Union.
