Two people are in custody after shots were fired towards an empty house in west Auckland this afternoon.

A car seen leaving the property was traced to another house in Māngere where the pair were found, along with a gun.
The police say charges will be laid.
They say they were called to the first house just before 2pm today.
The house was empty at the time.
Cordons are in place around the second house on Henwood Road in Mangere.
The police do not believe it is a random incident.
